Laws and Legal Matters
The crime of acid attacks have constantly been neglected by global legal systems which not only hinders the administration of justice but discourages victims of violence to speak up for themselves. Activists claim that official figures only show a fraction of the actual number of attacks reported and addressed. Additionally, courts and judges are needed to expedite such cases as the backlog of cases in high-risk countries is massive; even victims who were attacked a decade have been pressuring the court to administer justice. Lastly, many victims are uneducated on laws that support their case. To address these hindrances, laws regarding compensation/treatment, provisions for offenders, and sale/storage in high-risk countries have been listed.
